Program Overview
In this module, you must safely complete a simple work task at heights. You will be challenged to recognize defective PPE, locate proper tie off locations, and secure hand tools. You can practice these skills in one of the practice environments or challenge yourself to complete them in a “real world” Assessment Challenge.
Core Learning Objectives
This module is designed to assess your current working knowledge of how to work at heights safely. If you make any mistakes, there is an appropriate consequence experienced.
Listed below are the possible outcomes of the assessment:
-
Fired for taking too long to comply with superior's request
-
Injured in falling accident (damaged PPE)
-
Fatally injured in scaffolding collapse (missing/damaged PPE, incorrect tie off)
-
Fatally injured a bystander (unsecured or dropped tool)
-
Saved by your PPE in scaffolding collapse (proper safety used)
How to Get 100%
-
Inspect and don Harness:
-
To pick up the harness, use the Triggers on the controllers.
-
Use either hand to grab and rotate it in place by swiping.
-
Grip the harness to view it from the bottom.
-
If a harness is damaged — throw it in the trash before reaching into the Gang Box again to spawn a new one.
-
Possible Defects:
-
Straps Ripped, Cut or Torn
-
Straps Worn and Frayed
-
Buckles Torn
-
Buckles Broken
-
-
-
Don Harness (bring it close to chest until it disappears and applies to torso)
-
To change into a new harness after donning, simply apply another harness.
-
-
Select a Lanyard from the Lanyard Closet.
-
Grip and apply the carabiners to harness by overlapping them on any valid attachment point.
-
If a lanyard is damaged — toss it into the trash to spawn a new one.
-
-
Take the elevator to the Worksite. To use the elevator, enter it and press the Green Call Button.
-
Pick up the hammer (located on left side of platform) and tie it to the front of the harness (right side).
-
After tying the hammer to harness, tie off to the dedicated life line.
-
Attempt to cross the elevated platform to deliver the hammer to the superior. At a random interval, the platform will collapse under the user, testing if they are properly protected from a fall.
