Core Learning Objectives

• Hazard Identification — identify, assess and prioritize both existing and potential hazards

• Laser Pointer — to interact with menus in this experience, aim your laser pointer at the item you wish to interact with and pull the trigger on your controller to select it.

• Virtual Hands — to activate the green buttons within the environment, physically press them with your virtual hands.

Entering the Experience

Login and Authentication

To use this experience, you must log in using a PIXO account created by the organization’s administrator, or by a PIXO VR Representative. The login must be performed from a headset that is connected to the internet for authentication to work successfully.

 

Tip: Select the Remember me flag to save your login credentials for your next session.

 

1. Enter your PIXO credentials in the corresponding fields, then select Sign In.

2. Once logged in, you will proceed to the the Onboarding Tutorial.

Onboarding Tutorial

After logging in, you will complete an initial onboarding video. This will cover the basics of operation including teleportation, motion controllers, and using buttons. To skip the tutorial, press the Push to Skip button.

 

After the tutorial, you can choose between the Storage or Chemical Warehouse.

 

 

Experience Walkthrough

1. Grab and apply the proper PPE from the PPE Locker that is located within the preparation room.

   1. Tip: Apply the PPE by physically bringing the equipment to your body using your hand.

   2. Possible Defects:

      • Damaged Glasses 

      • Damaged Hardhat 

      • Missing Hard Hat

      • Worn or Damaged Gloves 

      • Worn or Damaged Earmuffs

2. Enter the workspace and begin the investigation by opening the door:

3. Locate and report hazards. Use your Laser Pointer to highlight and select interactable items within the scene.

4. After selecting an item, determine if the item is a hazard or not. Each item will have different selection options that pertain to hazards in relation to that object.

5. When finished, press the Complete Inspection button in the PPE room to enter Review Mode and review your performance.

Review Performance

Review your performance on a screen in the PPE room, as well as by returning to the warehouse where each interactable object is highlighted:

• Red — Incorrect Selection

• Yellow — Partially Correct Selection

• Green — Correct Selection

 

After reviewing your performance, you can play other randomized scenarios by pressing the New Inspection button, or press the Return to Hub to end the game.
