PPE Protect Yourself – Trainer Guide

Program Overview

In this training module, participants are asked to select personal protection equipment based on the working environment they are about to visit. After entering the facility, they are assessed on the equipment they chose.

 

Core Learning Objectives

  • Learn the requirements for selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Learn the differences between wearing PPE during visits to a specific facility

Functionality

  • Using your Virtual Hands

    • Activating Green Buttons — physically press the button using virtual hands

    • Opening Doors — grab the door handle while holding the controller trigger, then push forward

  • Exiting a Scenario — to exit a scenario, open the Facility Door in the Locker Room

 

How to Get 100%

Participants will have access to four different environments — the Hydrocarbon Plant, Maintenance Workshop, Construction Site and Chemical Warehouse.

All Scenarios

After selecting a door (selecting a scenario), users are taken to the Locker Room, where they will need to select the appropriate PPE for the scenario:

 

  1. Open BOTH Wardrobes

  2. Equip PPE

    • Users can select between: Head, Eye, Face, Body, Hearing, Hand Protection, Feet Protection, Equipment (Gas Monitor)

    • Hint: To equip PPE, users should grab the PPE item and pull it towards their body.

  3. When finished, users should open the Facility Door in the Locker Room to end the scenario.

Hydrocarbon Plant Scenario

To successfully complete the Hydrocarbon Plant level, the user has to select following PPE from the wardrobes:

  • Hard Hat

  • Safety Glasses or Safety Goggles

  • Flame Resistant Clothing

  • Safety Shoes

  • Personal Gas Monitors

  • Hearing Protection (optional)

Maintenance Workshop Scenario

To successfully complete the Maintenance Workshop level, the user has to select following PPE from the wardrobes:

  • Safety Glasses or Safety Goggles

  • Safety Shoes

  • Overall (optional)

  • Should not include Jacket (long sleeve clothes)

  • Hard Hat (optional)

  • Hearing Protection (optional)

  • Welding Mask (optional)

Construction Site Scenario

To successfully complete the Construction Site level, the user has to select following PPE from the wardrobes:

  • Hard Hat

  • Safety Glasses or Safety Goggles

  • Safety Shoes

  • Hearing Protection (optional)

Chemical Warehouse Scenario

To successfully complete the Chemical Warehouse level, the user has to select following PPE from the wardrobes:

  • Rubber Gloves

  • Respiratory Protection

  • Hard Hat

  • Safety Glasses or Safety Goggles

  • Safety Shoes

  • Rubber Apron
