V1.2

See below for instructions on sideloading VR content onto a Meta Quest 2 headset using ADB and command lines.
Please keep in mind that it is much easier to sideload using SideQuest. See our SideQuest Guide for more information.
Download Driver and Install ADB Tool
-
Download the driver from Oculus.com. When the download finishes it will be in your "Downloads" folder, find and extract the zip file into a folder.
-
Right click on "android_winusb.inf" and click "Install".

-
Connect your Meta Quest Headset to the computer, then look inside the headset to allow connection.
-
Your computer will then see the device as a storage device:

-
Extract the contents of the platform-tools folder to an easy to find folder on your PC, such as C:\ADB. You’ll need to type out the path to this folder when sideloading, so putting the file near the root of your drive saves typing time.
-
Download and install the Minimal ADB and Fastboot Tool from https://androiddatahost.com/uq6us.
How To Install An App
Follow these steps to install an app:
-
Make sure your headset is connected to your PC via USB.
-
Right click on the Windows Start button at the bottom left of your screen and click "File Explorer", then make your way to C:\ADB.
-
Move VR content to C:\ADB.
-
Run program.

-
Once program is open Type in: ADB install C:\ADB\Filename.apk
-
Wait a few seconds to get “Success”.

Check if App Installed

-
Go back to your device and make your way into the folder: This PC\Quest 2\Internal shared storage\Android\obb
-
Copy your .OBB file into the corresponding folder.
